Interrupted Entrepreneurship: Embracing Change in the Family Business(Book)

Interrupted Entrepreneurship is a book by Ramez Baassiri, explores the intricacies of managing a family business and surviving interruptions that occur.
Family businesses are the most common form of business across the globe. They represent nearly 80% of all businesses in the United States, 90% in the UAE and 99% in Japan. Family businesses account for 64 percent of U.S. gross domestic product, generate 62 percent of the country's employment, and account for 78 percent of all new job creation. Forbes mentions that interruptions or transitions in the entrepreneurial journeys of businesses are inevitable. In some cases, these seismic changes can lead to symbolic forks in the road, pulling entrepreneurs in different directions. A business's success or failure often lies in the direction they choose to go in. Using stories and case studies, the book offers us glimpses into the many paths that different families took when they came across interruptions in their business's lifecycle and ways to overcome them.
