Internet Trawling

Internet trawling is the process by which someone who has wireless capabilities on a device literally trawls for internet connections that are unsecure in a physical space and then connects to what's avaliable to them at the time and uses it for their own means.

Origin of Internet trawling

The origin of Internet trawling began with the concept of trawling for fish. Fishermen will cast their nets from their boat and drag it behind them in the hope that they will collect fish in a sizeable area of waters. This is also done by casting a line out from behind the boat in the hope of catching a fish.

Similarly, people who have wireless devices 'trawl' for unsecured internet connections by transporting them within a physical space and essentially catch internet access so that they can use it for their own means.
