Integrated Women and Youth Empowerment Centre

Integrated Women and Youth Empowerment Centre (IWAYEC) is an independent non-governmental, non-religious and non-ethnic nonprofit organization founded in 2003 and headquartered in Maiduguri, Borno State, Nigeria. It works to empower women, youths and children—particularly widows, orphans and other vulnerable groups—through vocational training, capacity building, crisis support and rehabilitation.<ref name="Imperial" />
History
IWAYEC was established in 2003 to address the needs of vulnerable populations in northern Nigeria, especially in conflict-affected areas. Its core mandate includes combating violence against women, assisting individuals in crisis situations and rehabilitating beneficiaries to engage actively in national development processes.<ref name="Lentra" />
