Institution of Technicians and Engineers

The Institution of Technicians and Engineering Kashmir ([http://ngo.india.gov.in/view_ngo_details.php?ngo_idalam_bakshi&ngo_black0&t_stateJK&t_dist_new30&sector_key0&ngo_name&uniqueid=JK/2009/0007600/ JK/2009/0007600 NGO]) is Kashmir's First Professional body which regulates the Engineering related profession and maintain the register of engineering craftman's and providing advice to students, engineers, employers and academic institutions on the standards of workmanship. It is first in nature which maintains such registers and is registered under Jammu & Kashmir state constitution for scientific, educational research and professional development trust.
History
The Engineering Technicians of Power Development Department government of Jammu & Kashmir arrange a meet in December 2000 and decided to work for professional development of technicians within the department and educational development of professional craftsman’s of the area, by which way a trust was framed in the name of Institution of Technicians Kashmir later in September 2009 in general meeting of board of trustee and general council members decided to inclusion of Engineer in the Institution and Institution of Technicians and Engineers (Kashmir) was born. Further three councils are made in 2011 which are Engineering council Kashmir, Corporate council and Institutional Advisory board.

Area of interest
Decided to create and establish a Institution to make research & Technology development, designing fabrication & documentation, Technical education, associate-ships, licentiateships, and skill training providers in scientific & technical education Industrial development all by mode of distance as well as regular according to the circumstances privileged for the welfare of the community at large without discrimination of caste or creed.
Area of operation
The Institution shall operate in the state of J&K and shall be purely a non-profiteering organization dedicated to the cause of importing technical education, and provide technical guidance and skilled knowledge to the general public including poor and needy people. The Institution shall be purely social services organization and professional body not affiliated to any political or religious/party. -->
