Innovation of Sound

Innovation of Sound are an unsigned alternative electronic music project from Coventry in the UK They were formed by Matt Cattell in 2009 and their first release was a 5 track ep called Commercial Music. The tracks Polaroid and Helsinki were used by the BBC and 2 international companies for their ad campaigns. Polaroid received excellent airplay by BBC Coventry and Warwickshire and has now had 177,509 plays on the next left myspace player.
It was followed up with a second ep The Truth/Sunlight.
In 2010 Innovation of Sound released their first studio album called "LISTEN" which received excellent reviews and was a great independent success. The album featured the singles "Lone Star" and "When the morning comes".
The album also featured the song "Blitzed" which won the Touch FM / Coventry Transport Museum competition to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Coventry Blitz The final version of the track was mixed and mastered by Matt Cattell and Roger Lomas.
The second studio album "THE SCIENCE OF LIFE" was recorded in 2011 and was released on Saturday March 31st 2012 The album was made available for FREE to download from all of the Innovation of Sound websites. It features the single Lost Souls which has a video that was filmed on the streets of Coventry.
Matt writes, performs, produces and masters all of the music using Propellerhead's Reason 6.
Innovation of Sound are currently filming a new video for their next single and are designing and constructing a new studio which will be ready to use by the end of the year# Matt plans to start work on the 3rd album early next year.
History
Matt has been in previous Coventry based bands called Pure Fiction, Headhunters and Numb Pulses which featured fellow Coventry musicans such as Paul Allen, Sam Gibb, Graeme Bennett, Manny Kang and John Docker# Matt has written and remixed songs for other groups.
In 2005 Matt and Sam wrote the soundtrack for the film The Trouble with Men and Women staring Kate Ashfield and Joseph McFadden.
