Ingested

Ingested is a brutal death metal band from Manchester, UK. They are signed to Grindethic Records and are well known in the UK underground death metal scene.

Biography
The band was previously named Age of Suffering but a change of direction forced them to take on a more "brutal" name. Ingested, or rather Age of Suffering, was primarily founded by Sean Hynes (bass) and Anthony Cahill (drums) in 2004 as a grindcore band then later Sam Yates was added on guitar. All the creative moves and stylistic changes since 2004 have been made by Hynes and Yates who are the only original members left. Later, Yates asked high-school friend Gary Harding to join the band to replace Anthony on drums. The addition of Jason Evans on vocals in 2005 was key in moving the band towards the death metal genre. Alastair Shelly and Jim Grigg were college friends of Hynes' and joined in late 2005. In 2006 Grigg left due to commitment issues and Brad Fuller, a long time friend of Evans' joined. Shelly left to complete his studies and could not be as involved as the band would have liked. Lyn Jeffs from Decapity joined Ingested to help them until they found a new drummer but ended up leaving Decapity and becoming a full time member. The band are known for being relatively young, with the youngest member Yates being born in February 1989 and the oldest being Sean born in October 1986. They have played all over the UK and in August 2007 played at the Swiss metal festival Mountains of Death, were they were very well received. Jeffs is also endorsed by Grindstix whilst only being 20 years old.

Sean Hynes and Sam Yates also run the underground company UKDM which is an acronym of United Kingdom Death Metal. Many UK extreme metal bands congregate at the company's Myspace page.

Music
Ingested combine the slam death metal sound with elements of other US-styled brutal death metal. Fast main riffs mixed with slam parts, with excessive use of pinch harmonics, blast beats and tremlo picking. They combine the styles of bands like Devourment, Abominable Putridity, and Soils of Fate with the styles of Gorgasm, Sarcolytic and Severed Savior

Lyrics
Lyrical themes include rape, coprophagy, necrophilia, fetishism and perversion.

Artwork
All artwork including the logo, T-shirts, CD covers and other merchandise has been designed by members of the band, mostly designed by Sam Yates but with Sean Hynes having a huge creative input (such as the design of the logo).
