INDK

INDK (pronounced "In Decay"), along with Leftöver Crack, was one of the many bands that arose from the now-defunct Choking Victim, fronted by former Choking Victim guitarist Ezra. The band was line up was completed by Choking Victim's Skwert (drums/backing vocals), bassist Andy Stylee (formerly of Metro Stylee), guitarist/vocalist Jimmy, and on another 6-string, Paul.
INDK, much like Choking Victim, broke up while recording their debut full-length, Kill Whitey!, which came out on Go Kart Records. They also released a 7" called 'In Decay' which featured two songs not included on the album ("Living With L.E.S." and "Feeling Lucky, Punk?"). INDK also sold a demo entitled "Any Last Words?" at their shows which contained mostly alternate or unmastered versions of the songs that would later appear on Kill Whitey!. However, it did contain several tracks unique to the album; "Pole Position", "D.T.T.V" (or "Detox Television") and the follow-up to "Living With L.E.S."- "Living With Even L.E.S.".
The breakup of INDK, once again very much like Choking Victim, spawned two bands. Ezra continued to play guitar for Leftöver Crack, while forming his own side project, Morning Glory (also featuring Jimmy on backup vocals). Skwert and Paul went on to form the hardcore group American Distress, attempting to separate themselves from the Crack Rock Steady style of music Choking Victim and INDK were associated with. American Distress released a four song demo and a self titled full length album on Tent City Records, the drummers label. After American Distress broke up, Paul went on to start ANGRYEEL.COM, a multi media site of his own artwork, music and photographs. Matt went on to make his own illustration site CURTISILLUSTRATIONS.COM and Skwert still operates TENTCITYRECORDS.COM and is currently fronting a band called The Public Serpents. Andy Stylee (nee Shaw) now runs Shaw Promotion in New York - a marketing and promotion company.
