Imperion

Imperion is a German massively multiplayer online browser-based strategy game developed by Travian Games GmbH.
The game takes a similar style and format to Travian though it is set in space in the year 2137. There are 3 unique races in the game which players can choose from. The map is set out similar to Travian with players colonizing planets in place of villages.
Lore
At some point in the 21st century the Titans made first contact with Earth. From this contact a new friendship was formed. The Titans gave Man the key to the stars...the secret of space travel. This new found friendship lasted for years, but not all were satisfied with the so-called new found friends of man. There were those that hated the Titans and saw them as an infection, a blight upon the history of man. Earth was torn down the middle, those that supported the Titans, and those that wanted to destroy them.
On the 4th of March 2105 (Earth Standard Time) these Terran Free Colonists - as they called themselves - set off from Earth (ironically using the same technology the Xeno Titans had given them) in search of freedom from the Titan menace. Over 50 billion humans left Earth that day in search of a better future for themselves. They wandered the galaxy for years as nomads. Any colonies that were set up by those that wanted to live again were hit by famine, disease or war.
The exact date that the Terran Free Colonists first found the Xen is unknown, however in each other they both found a common hatred of the Titans. From this hatred an alliance was forged, the Xen gave the Terran Free Colonists the knowledge and resources to found their own planets in the far reaches of space, light years away from Earth. And to this day they prosper, their minds slowly poisoned by the Xen against the Titans, just waiting for the day when they will exact revenge upon those that supposedly drove them from their homes.
Gameplay
Players can choose from three classes - the defensive Titans, offensive Xen or balanced Terrans, and select which of the three in-game galaxies they wish to start in. Once registered the players are presented with a planet overview, from which they can construct buildings on the top half of the screen and mines on the bottom half. Mines produce either Metal, Crystal or Deuterium (This is replaced by Tritium for Titan players) depending on their type. All buildings require a certain amount of these resources to be constructed and also consume a portion of the planet's energy supply (Which is fueled by different types of power generators) until they are destroyed. Once a Civilian or Military Shipyard has been constructed the player can begin building ships which can be sent across the galaxy to harvest comets and asteroids, colonize other planets or attack other players. With the addition of a research lab players can unlock new ships and upgrades to further their growth, and an Embassy allows players to join existing leagues or at level 3 create their own.
Races
Players can choose to play as either Titans, Terrans or Xen. Each race is radically different in terms of gameplay and backstory.
Titans
The Titans are strong in aspects such as individual ship powers and defensive systems. Unfortunatley, their ships have no cargo capacity (aside from transports and corsairs), though they have many defensive abilities such as planetary shields, anti-espionage buildings and dimensional modulator's (buildings that are able to shift your planet to another dimension temporarily to defend its self from attack). However these dimensional modulators were removed after Space Project (the original beta).
Many players also have noted that Titan ships are significantly more expensive than Terran or Xen ships but this is worth it as Titan ships have the most indavidual power than the other 2 species. Unlike the other 2 species, Titans are only compared as "powerful" later in the game as it takes a while for them to unlock their full capabilities.
Xen
The Xen are an offensive race, using a different ship construction system to the other races - players must first construct a number of 'Zeks', then combine them to form larger ships, Xen fights with a large number of weak ships (as they're the cheapest among the galaxy).
unlike other species, the Xen are capable of building multiple ships at the same time as long as they have met the requirements. A Xen has the capability to restore their fleet far faster than any other race.
Though their ships are very cheap, they are also rather weak, making them easily replaceable. Although they have some defence systems, they are energy consuming, expensive and are far less effective than just using ships. Unlike the titan and terran races, the xen is only powerful early in the game, after which it is easily overpowered by the titan "Delphi" or the terran "Destroyer".
Terran
The Terrans are a balanced race, and have the additional ability of retrieving resources from ships destroyed above their planet as it falls from space.
General
Titans and Xen, being sworn enemies, are unable to trade with one another while Terrans may trade with anyone. Furthermore, Titan players are incapable of attacking other Titans without using Corsair ships. Terrans and Xen, however, are able to attack whoever they wish.
Planets
There are six kinds of planets.
Ice planets, which contain slightly more metal fields and are suited for hydro and wind powerplants. Solar plants are negatively impacted and geothermal power isn't available on these planets. Ice planets are also uninhabitable by the Xen.
Desert planets, which contain a significant amount of crystal fields and less deuterium/tritium fields, are suited for Solar plants and wind powerplants.
Earth-like planets, in which the environment and resources closely resemble Earth. All types of energy plants—hydro, solar, wind, etc. -- are equivalent (all 100%) on Earth-like planets. This is the starting planet for all new players.
Gas giants, are planets uninhabitable to all species. It is not known how to colonize these.
Aquatic planets are composed mainly of water, with very few land masses. As a result, hydropower energy and solar operate exceptionally well. These planets contain a significant amount of deuterium/tritium fields, and a scarce amount of metal and crystal fields.
Volcanic planets are the last, and can only be colonized by the Xen. No other species can survive in this hostile environment. Thermal power plants operate at above average efficiency.
Visual style
The artistic style of the races very closely resembles that of Starcraft's Terran, Protoss, and Zerg races.
