Ilya Aleksandrovich Shifrin

Ilya Shifrin (b. July 5, 1985 in Ryazan, Russia) is a Russian philologist, linguist, and translator. He studies various aspects of languages, psycholinguistics, psychopedagogy, ESL teaching methodology, glossology, sociolinguistics, etc. He has published a number of scientific works including theoretico-practical studies of global electronic network language system tiers, qualitative study of global electronic network language systems, theoretico-practical research study of psychological features forming language learning susceptibility, and many others.
At Specialist Language (English) State School, the city of Ryazan, he got his General Certificate of Education with honours. Two years later Ilya Shifrin was conferred a General Intermediate (Full) Education Degree and got a Silver Medal of Recognition for extraordinary academic achievement from Russian Federation Ministry for General and Professional Education, Ryazan City Administration.
Since 2002 Ilya Shifrin has earned majors in Linguistics, British and US Literature, Education Science, Philology, and Japanese as a Second Language at Ryazan State University, City of Ryazan, Russia. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Linguistics and Education Science, English, Russian and US Literature and a master’s degree in linguistics, education science, and Japanese as a second language. For his Master’s degree Ilya Shifrin presented his Master’s thesis titled “Psychological Type of the ESL Student as a Relevant Factor Affecting Foreign Language Acquisition” (A theoretico-practical academic research study of psychological features forming language learning susceptibility. Analysis of age-grade distribution factors and neuropsychological criteria from the point of view of foreign language teaching methodology (Psycholinguistics / ESL Teaching Methodology). For his Pre-doctoral /Postgraduate degree he wrote and published “Religious and Philosophic Aspects in Iris Murdoch’s Novels” (A comprehensive linguistic analysis of the diachronic dialectical connection between the personality of the author, philosopho-historical and philosopho-psychological societal background and selected motific elements, ideas and protagonists’ features in their development on the basis of the studied novels. on the basis of the novels “The Sea, the Sea”, “The Black Prince”, “The Flight from the Enchanter”, and “The Sandcastle” (British modernist Literature, Philology / Sociolinguistics / Gender Studies), both works are readily available at the Library of Ryazan State University. Ilya Shifrin is presently completing his Doctoral Thesis titled “Linguocognitive Structure of Bilingual Consciousness”.
