Iliya Yame Kwache

Iliya Yame Kwache is an author and a politician. He hails from Michika in Michika Local Government Area of Adamawa State Nigeria
Early life and education
Iliya Yame Kwache was born on 14 of September 1965 to Yame Dzangri and Kwata Ra Apika. He attended the famous Central Primary School Michika from 1972 to 1978. Central Primary School Michika was established in 1942 and is the first educational institution in the region. He also attended Government Secondary School, Uba Adamawa State from 1978 to 1983. He later gained admission into the famous and prestigious Federal School of Radiography Lagos now Department of Radiography at the University of Lagos. He was the best all graduating student of the school in 1991 with distinction and carted away all the prizes including the famous “Watson Challenge Shield.” He was at one time the president of the Readers’ Club noted for organising debates and supplying journals to students.
Professional career
In 1984, Iliya joined the Nigerian Navy and served the Federal Republic of Nigeria faithfully and retired honourably in 1996. Iliya is a legal practitioner and a medical ultrasonographer with specialisation in maternal and vascular imaging.
Political career
Iliya Yame Kwache contested for Federal House of Representatives of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in 2019 to represent the Madagali/Michika Federal Constituency.
North-East initiatives
Iliya is a strong advocate for the reconstruction, rehabilitation and recovery of the North-East region of Nigeria, which has been ravaged by six years of insurgency.
Kwache, who on a constant effort of the restoration of peace, has met with well meaning indigenes, non indigenes and non Nigerians to ameliorate the sufferings of people of the North East who have been visited with all forms of pains by Boko Haram.
In 2009, the Michika Community through the District Head conferred on Mr Kwache the traditional title of (Dan Lawan Michika)
As a philanthropist, he has rehabilitated many schools in his locality
Not Too Young To Run
Kwache is an active supporter of the Not Too Young To Run campaign, which aims to secure representation for Nigeria's youth in the political process by lowering the age of eligibility for elective offices. He first mentioned the need to consider this reduction in the next amendment process during a meeting with student leaders drawn from across Nigerian tertiary institutions.
Publications
He is the author of the book “ Kamwe People of Northern Nigeria: Origin, History and Culture]]. Rated an excellence historical book by some American universities like Harvard and Princeton. He is also a public commentator and author of many articles.
