Ikhtiyor Rakhman

Ikhtiyor Rakhman (born June 27, 1991) is an Uzbek journalist, media trainer and factchecker who is currently chief correspondent for Interfax.uz and founder of Factchecking.uz in Uzbekistan. In 2017, he founded the news site Korrespondent.uz in Uzbekistan but left the project in 2020.
Life and career
Ikhtiyor was born in Tashkent region in 1991. He is a participant of the 2019 U.S. Department of State IVLP program. As part of the program, he has been to several media outlets in the United States, particularly the Associated Press. In 2019, Rakhman presented the Factcheck blog, which also fights against fake news in Uzbekistan, at an anti-fake training in Central Asia organized by the US Embassy in Dushanbe, Tajikistan.
Rakhman sharply criticized the Commission for Combatting Coronavirus in Uzbekistan in 2020 during an interview with The Diplomat.
Education
In 2020 he started his bachelor's degree at University of Journalism and Mass Communication of Uzbekistan, majoring Public relations. Moreover, he attended Webster University in Tashkent for the special courses of "English for professionals in Mass-media" organized by the US Embassy in Tashkent.
