ICarly universe and sister series
|
After the iCarly TV series, there are other works based on it and its universe, known as "the Schneiderverse". Similarities between the series * Galaxy Wars (parody of Star Wars) is a popular movie in iCarly and Drake & Josh. ** Galaxy Wars ' s proton cruiser is a parody of Star Wars ' s T-65 X-wing starfighters, Jedi cruisers (Venator-class Star Destroyers) and proton torpedoes. *** The name of its principal battle is similar to Palpatine's name. ** Toilet Wars, in Sam & Cat, is a funny TV series. ** In Henry Danger, the movie Galaxy Wars 9, sometimes called only "Galaxy Wars" (parody of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, sometimes called only "Star Wars"), is a very waited movie, and its material is similar to Star Wars ' s material. * PearPhones are popular cellphones and iPhone-like smartphones in iCarly. ** PearPhone, PearPhone GX and PearPhone XT phones (parodies of iPhones) are pear-shaped iPhone-like smartphones in iCarly and Victorious. *** Cat's "very old" PearPhone (probably a GX) and PearPhone 6 phones are popular smartphones in Sam & Cat. *** The smartphones in Henry Danger have not Pear logos and are not pear-shaped, but they are identified as PearPhones. ** * In many of the series: ** Carly is with her father Steven near Florence, in Italy. ** Gibby and Robbie are considered strange. ** Spencer is fond to Gibby's head's copy. ** Drake & Josh, Zoey 101 and the fictional That's a Drag! are popular TV series (in iCarly, Victorious, Sam & Cat and Henry Danger). *** Some Zoey 101 and Drake & Josh characters are real people. ** Dan Schneider, Joe Catania and Robin Weiner are only mentioned characters. *** are real organizations. ** Cat lives with Nona, her grandmother, in Venice, Los Angeles, but Cat, initially (in Victorious), thinks that she's in Venice (Italy). ** Handy Quick is a minimarket in Los Angeles. ** The "best" luna park in Los Angeles is Mystic Mountain, famous for its roller coasters. ** Nozu is a sushi bar located nearly to Hollywood. ** Pet Mergency is a veterinary hospital. ** Pear (parody of Apple Inc.) and Sampong (parody of Samsung Electronics Co.) are concurrent companies (parody of the "Apple Inc. v. Samsung Electronics Co." situation). *** Pear is famous for manufacturing PearPhones (such as the GX, the XT and the 6) and computers, such as PearPads (such as the 2, the 3 or the Bots' menu/PearPad). **** On https://sites.google.com/site/pearsoftco24/home are sold PearPhone, PearBook, PearPad, PearPro and PearTouch replicas and Pear apps. ** There are a non-canonical nonsense April Fools' Day episode, an episode about bloopers with the real-life actors as protagonists and/or a Christopher Cane presents An Evening with with the fictional puppet actor Christopher Cane (who, as he says, played the puppet Rex Powers in Victorious, who seems to be an intelligent object) interviewing actors and featuring videos of their bloopers. ** There is an ambiguously canonical episode about Halloween (often including a mysterious fantasy/horror item) and another about Christmas (often inspired by A Christmas Carol). ** There are "crossover" episodes between series. *** iCarly episode "iParty with Victorious". *** Victorious episode "April Fools' Blank" (non-canonical). *** All the Sam & Cat series. **** Sam & Cat episodes "#MommaGoomer", "#MadAboutShoe", "#TheKillerTunaJump: #Freddie #Jade #Robbie", "#SuperPsycho", "#FirstClassProblems". *** Henry Danger episodes "Secret Beef", "Danger & Thunder". ** Is featured a modified version of "The Wheels on the Bus". ** Are featured the cola-like Wahoo Punch and Blue Dog soft drinks. ==The two "universes"== Dan Schneider's iCarly universe is often separated by Jed Spingarn's one formed by The Thundermans and The Haunted Hathaways, because the first is more realistic than the second. The first one rarely includes science fiction, magical or fantasy items; the second one is about men born with superpowers that are not artificially created, ghosts, genetically modified people, but the two "universes" were united in the 2016 Henry Danger crossover episode "Danger & Thunder" with The Thundermans. Spingarn's universe is known to have many bloopers, too, and it contains frequently a recurring easter egg, consisting in characters or things (often of minor importance) to be upside down. Religions in the series Many works by Dan Schneider include Jewish characters; mentions of synagogues, Bar Mitzvah celebrations, conversions to Judaism (like the one in Robbie's proposals to the Vega sisters in Victorious);... Also frequently appears Christianity (the Vega family from Victorious is probably Christian).
