Ian Whitty, based in Cork City, Ireland, is an Irish songwriter and vocalist/guitarist. His debut EP Will O' The Wisp (2004) was followed by his first full-length release The Lucky Caller No.9 in 2008. Both these releases and various singles are released on his Cork-based independent label Whimsical River Records. Ian Whitty has predominantly been performing with his band Ian Whitty & The Exchange since the release of 'The Lucky Caller No.9'. The Lucky Caller No.9 was voted into the top 10 Debut Irish Albums of 2008 by the readers of Hot Press. Through his career he has shared the stage with Florence And The Machine, The Magic Numbers, The Waterboys, Declan O'Rourke, Bell X1, Josh Ritter, Damien Rice, The Frames and Rodrigo y Gabriella among others. Ian has been featured on numerous compilations appearing alongside internationally acclaimed acts such as The Corrs and The Frames. |
