Ian Swann is a British born actor and voice-over. He was born in Leicestershire and was educated at Loughborough Endowed Schools, where he went on to act two seasons with the National Youth Theatre 1975-76 and then trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, London 1977-79, winning the Patrick Wymark Memorial Prize. From there he has acted extensively in the theatre and in voice-overs internationally. A former Channel 4 and Biography Channel continuity announcer, he was one of the first dozen British voice-overs to embrace the current technology of ISDN, which connects studio to studio worldwide in realtime. He is the inventor of the VOBOX, a portable recording studio for recording broadcast quality voice-overs anywhere. He is also a member of the Honourable Artillery Company, London. His active service with the H.A.C. lasted from 1981-98.
