On October 21, 2024, five members of the Humiston family were shot dead in their home in Fall City, Washington. An 11-year-old girl who is a member of the family was shot and injured as well. Background The accused in the killings is a 15-year-old boy named Andrew Humiston who is also a member of the family. Authorities say the accused attempted to frame the killings as being perpetrated by one of his brothers whom he is suspected of killing in the shooting. Killings The killings took place at 4:55a.m. on October 21, 2024, near Fall City in King County, Washington. Several 911 calls were made just after 5a.m. reporting a shooting at a home in the 7700 block of Lake Alice Road Southeast in Fall City. Law enforcement found two adults and three children dead at the scene. The victims were later identified as 43-year-old Mark Humiston, 42-year-old Sarah Humiston, 13-year-old Benjamin Humiston, 9-year-old Joshua Humiston, and 7-year-old Katheryn Humiston. According to the King County Medical Examiner's Office, all five had died due to gunshot wounds. According to court documents, the accused called 911 and stated that he was hiding in the bathroom after his brother Benjamin had killed the rest of the family and then killed himself. However, medical examiners determined that Benjamin had been shot from at least away. The weapon used was a silver Glock pistol belonging to the father of the family. According to the girl, her brother had been in trouble recently due to his performance at school and also that he was the only child who knew the combination to the gun safe where their father's handgun was stored.
