Human Rights Student Organization

The Human Rights Student Organization (HRSO) is a student-run, non-profit organization and NGO that aims to increase awareness of human rights issues in Qatar.
It is dedicated to promoting student involvement in national and international health and human rights issues, providing the students with opportunities to tackle these issues, seeking to act on issues of social justice, and creating awareness through education and praxis.
Since the establishment of HRSO in August 2008, the organization has been working to raise awareness of various issues between the youth of Education City and the State of Qatar. HRSO has won several awards throughout its short yet powerful history.
Successful awareness-raising events, such as Global Pink Hijab Day and Break Your Nose, showed students that there were indeed problems in their community, and that there are ways to tackle these problems.
History
HRSO was established in August 2008 with an initial membership of only a handful of students. It is a member of Qatar Foundation.
