Huda Kattan

Huda Kattan (born October 2, 1983) is an Arab-American professional make-up artist, beauty blogger, and founder and CEO of the cosmetics company Huda Beauty. Kattan started her career as a Dubai-based beauty blogger in 2010 and has since grown to become one of the top Global Social Media Beauty influencers.
Early life
Kattan was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and spent her early life in Tennessee. Her parents are of Iraqi and other Middle Eastern descent. Kattan has four siblings: an older brother, Khalid, an older sister, Alya, a younger sister, Mona, and an older half-sister, Halida. Kattan graduated with a degree in finance from the University of Michigan in 2008. Her family moved to Dubai in 2002 moved to Dubai in 2008. and in 2009 she enrolled at the Joe Blasco Makeup Training school in Los Angeles. Soon, Kattan built up a clientele that included celebrities Eva Longoria and Nicole Richie, as well as members of a Royal family.
In 2010, Kattan set up her beauty blog HudaBeauty.com, and YouTube channel. and has since expanded to other social media platforms, such as Instagram and Snapchat.
Huda Beauty Cosmetics
Feeling the cosmetics industry lacked a variety of false eyelashes, Kattan began to design her own. The brand now has a collection that includes lip, nail, and eye products, which are available worldwide.
In 2015, Kattan hosted her first make-up Master Class in Dubai. The sell-out class led Kattan to host further classes in Dubai, Doha, Qatar, and Abu Dhabi.
Awards and recognition
Kattan has appeared on the cover of several Middle Eastern publications including Layalina, ', Diva, Al Oustoura, MOEments, ', Harper's Bazaar Arabia, and Cosmopolitan Middle East. She's also been interviewed and featured in various international magazines such as Elle, W, Grazia, Good Housekeeping, Style Arabia, Allure, PopSugar, and Arabian Business. She was also nominated for the Visionaries category of Emirates Woman of the Year 2011 Award.
She's been recognized as well as one of the top Social Media Beauty Influencers in Middle-East and globally.
In December 2016, Kattan won the Digital Innovator of the Year award at the WWD Beauty Awards. Other winners include Pat McGrath Labs, Jen Atkin, and Kylie Cosmetics.
Personal life
As of January 2017, Kattan resides in Dubai.<ref name=":3" />
