HRO Today

HRO Today, short for Human Resource Outsourcing Today (or Outsourcing Today), is a monthly trade publication for human resources professionals, launched in 2002 by SharedXpertise (formerly Crossing Media) The magazine provides extensive coverage of how companies reduce the cost of hiring and training their employees.
It also compiles an annual list of customer satisfaction ratings, naming the top HR related companies for various categories based on customers feedback and ratings, and also presents the HRO Today Service and Technology Association awards.
Audience
Its collective audience, including its forums, reports to reach "over 180,000 senior-level HR decision-makers." The awards have been publicized in The New York Times and CNBC A new award titled "Most Admired Employer" was launched in January 2019. is one of the services that, along with "predictive modeling (and) mid-revenue cycle" management, performed by an outside service provider on behalf of a company's Human Resource department when the firm chooses to outsource. HRO Today evaluates these services, in particular RPO, and issues awards those companies which excel in specific niche areas therein.
Impact
The magazine was an early user of the term "Self-sourcing"
in an article titled "Insourcing, Outsourcing? How about Self-sourcing?" that mined 's history of a pair of banks that merged decades ago as Standard Chartered and, after September 11, rebuilt its personnel department in an innovative way. The term Selfsourcing is a subset of the former.
A pair of 2008 books described HRO Today as "a national trade publication", government<ref name"DotGov" />, and general media. <ref name"NYT.pat1" /><ref name="NYT.award" />
