Howard Emanuel

Howard Emanuel (born 28/10/1956) was an Australian politician who contested the 1999 State seat of Gippsland South as a Labor Party candidate and the 2004 Federal Seat of MacMillan as an Independent. The 1999 election saw Emanuel gain the second biggest swing in the state of Victoria towards himself, but was narrowly defeated by Nationals MP Peter Ryan
The 2004 Federal Election saw Emanuel found his own party, the Rural Social Justice Movement. Although he had founded his own party, Emanuel still ran as an independent Candidate against Russell Broadbent Emanuel failed to gain enough votes to challenge Broadbent in this election, but continued to provide a voice for the rural people of Victoria.
Emanuel has also held positions on the Gippsland Coastal Board and various Mental Health Comittees around his home town of Sandy Point, Victoria.
