Early Days
House of Noizz was created by Russian musician and radio DJ Max Thrasher, in 2001. Max started his career on Moscow's Echo Of Moscow radio but moved to New Zealand in 1998. The show was named after Alice Cooper song from album which Max listened to while waiting at the bus stop.
Originally the show aimed to showcase European heavy metal to New Zealand audience. The first broadcast presented tracks from Manowar, Rhapsody, Naglfar, Sonata Arctica and the like.
Acompanying Max was 18 year old communications student Melissa Rewi who only stayed with the program for about 9 months.
In the beginning of 2002 Max found himself alone, and presented the show solo for a couple of months until meeting Justine "Stine" Sommerville. Justine, a fan of extreme metal, worked at Real Groovy music store in Auckland. For the following 12 months she added her share of Deicide, Napalm Death and Scissorfight to the House.
Stine left in the beginning of 2003 and Max once again ran the show by himself until September 2003 when Brendon Williams came on board.
With Brendon's arrival the show took on a new stance, now focusing on interviewing the elite of international heavy metal, such as Manowar, Motley Crue, Twisted Sister, King Diamond, GWAR, Uriah Heep and many more, including the infamous interview with The Great Kat.
