Hood Surgeon

Curtis Young (born December 15, 1981), known as Hood Surgeon, is the son of legendary hip hop producer and rapper Dr. Dre. Young performs under the Hood Surgeon moniker, and has been working with Lil Eazy-E, Eazy-E's son. Curtis' real birth name is Mclemore. He met his father, who's real name is Andre Young, in 2002 through the help of his then friend, Mengesha Francis, and since uses the same last name. In 2002, Hood Surgeon was also being produced and was connected to Dr.Dre by Mengesha Mystro Francis, president/producer of School Tyme Hip-Hop Productions, LLC. Mengesha requested proof that Andre could be Curtis' father and was given a "personal" document from Curtis. Mengesha then made a call to Dr. Dre's lawyer Howard King and told him about "Curtis Mclemore" being related to the famous rapper.

Although some sources have confirmed his debut album to be Son of a Doctor, due for release somewhere between July 17 and July 24, 2007 . Hood himself stated in an interview he is working on a mixtape called Prognosis and will be releasing his debut album called The Legacy Continues after Detox has been released.

In that same interview he was asked if the beats for his debut album would come from his pops. Although he couldn't confirm, he didn't say no either. "I can't give out any secrets on the album yet", he said "but it's gonna be right, trust me".
