Hirangi Ashar

Hirangi Ashar is an American dancer, choreographer, model,and actress. She began her dance company, Malti Dance Academy, at an exceptionally early age after being inspired by her grandmother’s losing battle with breast cancer in 2005. She named her dance company after her grandmother in hopes of keeping her memory alive. Besides that she appeared on Nickelodeon's Victorious and HBO's Hung TV shows.
Early life
Ashar was born on 13 December 1992 in Nagpur, Maharashtra to a Gujurathi family. She began training in Bharata Natyam and other forms of Indian Dances like Bollywood and Kathak at the age of 5 and began choreographing when she was 12. At 13 she began her charitable contributions by performing at her school's fund raiser and educating her peers about the dances of India.
Dancing career
At fairly young age, she continued her formal dancing training, while managing her dance company, Malti Dance Academy. She completed her formal dance training in India. Later she took part in various Indian dance competitions to further her choreographing skills.
She also performed at Millions of Milkshakes as an opening act for Omarion. She promoted the fight against breast cancer through her dance company and participated at various charity events like Asha for Education and Pink Ribbon Foundation. Ashar worked with intellectual disabled children and taught them dance as an extra curricular activity for them. As a young girl she continued working for charities and pursed her passion along with it.
She gained further success after she hosted a dance show in order to raise awareness for breast cancer at the age of 18. During which, her company raised $5,000 for the charity, while promoting local dance and talent agencies.
Acting and Modeling

Ashar began acting and modeling during her high school years. She appeared on the popular TV show Victorious, and acted as a cheerleader on the show. She also began modeling for Indian clothing designers and part took in few pageants as an Indian Model. She was the only Indian girl to part take in the Miss Newport Beach pageant and placed as a runner up in her category in 2011.
Education
Ashar is currently enrolled at UCLA where she is pursuing a degree in medicine.
