Hines Industries

Hines Industries is an American balancing machine design, engineering, and manufacturing company. Based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, was incorporated in 1979 by Gordon E. Hines. The company was founded on two basic principles, to offer superior products at competitive prices. This philosophy led to the development of 17 patented designs which are now industry standards. <ref name=" Patents " group="note"/>
Hines Industries got its start designing drive shaft balancing machines for the automotive industry with a special product line for the rebuild and high performance racing markets. Hines then expanded their machine designs to balancers that would serve the needs of pump impeller manufacturers. The resulting products were pre-calibrated, rapid-cycle machines with quick-change tooling and holding brakes that allowed balance correction of workpieces while still mounted on the balancers.
The evolution of computer-aided technology, and automated features for correction and manipulation of work pieces has propelled Hines into an ever expanding environment of applications. Hines now offers manual, semi-automatic, and fully automatic, multi-station dynamic vertical balancing machines, vertical non-rotating balancing machines, horizontal overhung balancers, cradle balancers, and driveshaft balancers. In addition for the automotive rebuild market, Hines offers engine rebuilding machines, automatic shaft rebuilding machines, hollow spindle tube lathes, and shaft rebuilding presses. Hines balancing machines accurately and precisely balance parts from under a pound to 20,00 pounds.
Hines products can be found in the manufacturing plants of the major domestic and international automakers, automotive components and aftermarket (driveshaft, crankshaft, brakes, tires, etc.), pump manufacturing companies, and aerospace companies (jet engine turbines). Countless other industrial facilities also rely on Hines balancers in the production process.
Hines Industries also offers manufacturing process improvement consulting, balancing services, training, and customer support. In addition to new machines Hines sells used balancers, offers computer upgrade packages, refurbishes balancing machines, and sells tooling for balancing applications.
