The Hillary Bus was a grassroots campaign bus operated by Ready for Hillary PAC (now known as Ready PAC) from summer 2014 to spring 2015. The organizers' mission was to urge Hillary Clinton to run in the 2016 United States presidential election and to get voters excited for her candidacy. The Washington Post described it as "a campaign bus before there is even a campaign". The bus made many stops in conjunction with Clinton's book tour for her memoir, Hard Choices. It also visited college campuses across the country, often in conjunction with College Democrats chapters or local student chapters of Ready for Hillary. As of December 2014, the bus had visited all but three of the contiguous 48 states and the District of Columbia. Craig T. Smith, a senior adviser to Ready for Hillary and a former Clinton White House political director, described the bus as "one of the best investments we ever made", noting that it had signed up thousands of people in support of Clinton.
