Hiigara

Hiigara is the home planet of the Kushan in the fictional Homeworld Universe. The homeworld of the ancient Hiigarans, who were forced to exile from their planet by the Taiidani empire. Rediscovered by the Kushan on the Guidestone on the Khar-Toba, the word 'Hiigara' is "a word more ancient than the clans themselves." It translates to 'home' and is the only word which all the languages of the Kushan have in common, illustrating its ancient, binding origin. The real-life origin of this invented word may be related to the Islamic word Hegira, referring to Muhammed's historic flight from Mecca to Medina. Although none of the games ever let you really get a good look at the planet, it appears to have a fairly temperament climate, with varying climates. Although Hiigara appears to be based on Earth, the geographical makeup of the two planets clearly differs, as evidenced by the single landmass usually displayed on the surface of Hiigara.
