Hey Little Hen Man

Hey Little Hen Man was a popular phone in caller on "Triple M" feature, broadcast on the LBC 97.3FM radio station on weekday evenings between September 9, 2005 to September 16, 2007.

The "Triple M" feature allowed callers to go straight to the air, live and unscreened. As part of that feature, an unknown caller would often call the station towards the end of the slot singing a rendition of the Noel Gay song Hey Little Hen.

It soon became a cult on the station, and such was the popularity that the identity of the 'Hey Little Hen Man' became a subject of debate on the station itself.

Iain Lee's producer finally tracked down the 'Hey Little Hen Man' and in a secret meeting in London, he was interviewed by Iain Lee on LBC. His identity remained unrevealed, but Iain Lee commented that
...the hey little hen man was a baldy...he's much younger than I thought he was going to be, I thought he was going to be an old man, he's like, he's about, my age.

Upon Iain Lee's departure from LBC the 'Hey Little Hen Man' calls stopped. However, Iain Lee continues to use recordings of the 'Hey Little Hen Man's song on his current show on Absolute Radio
