Hester McCardell Ford (Born 15 August 1905) is an American supercentenarian who has been the oldest living person in the United States since the death of 114 year-old Alelia Murphy on November 23, 2019. According to the Gerontology Research Group which has verified her age, she is the 6th oldest verfied living person in the world. Biography Hester Ford was born in Lancaster, South Carolina on August 15, 1905. In 2018 a census record was uncovered that may prove she was actually born in 1904. However many sources including the Gerontology Research Group still say she was born in 1905. Charlotte Mayor Vi Lyles declared Ford's birthday, August 15, as "Mother Hester Ford Day" in 2019.
