Henry Anthony Lloyd is a British Chartered Surveyor and a member of RICS who was a pioneer in the concept of the project manager. He has been the principal engineer behind many well known buildings and sites around the UK. Early Life Henry grew up in Petersham, Surrey and attended Grey Court School before gaining his qualifications. Career In 1968, Henry joined George Wimpey as an indentured engineer. Having progressed to the position of Design Engineer, he moved to a London Borough Local Authority as a building control officer, where he remained until 1984. He then formed Henry Lloyd Construction Ltd, a design and build company working on speculative building projects in both the commercial and domestic markets in the UK and abroad. Some of his more significant projects include the Headquarters for Pepe Group plc, the central warehouse and offices for Wealmoor Ltd, an exotic fruit and vegetable trading company. Henry Lloyd Construction were also responsible for all design, construction and subsequent sales, lettings, fitting out and site management of a 200,000 sq.ft development of a mixed use business park for Cumberland Park Ltd. Further to this, Henry Lloyd construction, with Henry at the helm, embarked on a project to design and build several stores for furniture company Joysleep Ltd, including their flagship store in Edmonton, London. Henry and his company have also ventured abroad with multiple projects in Africa. As well as design and build work, Henry has been instrumental in promoting fire safety, having been involved in both Homesafe and Stayafe UK, two of the UK's more prominent Domestic fire sprinkler suppliers. He has campaigned tirelessly for government funding for compulsory fire sprinklers in all new build houses, thereby reducing the number of deaths in house fires in the UK. <references/>
