Henri White (Born 13 October 1993 in Gravesend, Kent) is an English Magician and Pianist now based in London. As well as his public appearances, Henri is also well known amongst fellow magicians for running several large forums for magicians as well as creating and selling tricks with magic companies such as Murphy's Magic, Ellusionist and World Magic Shop. Early life Henri White was born in 1993 to Wendy Ireland and Nigel White, Landlords of The See Ho Public House in Shorne, Kent. He grew up living in the flat above The See Ho. Attending the local Nursery at Gads Hill School, before moving on to the local Primary School, Shorne School. It was during primary school where Henri discovered a love for magic, a combination of seeing local magician Spencer Wood and big stars like David Blaine and Max Somerset on TV would inspire a great interest in magic for Henri. It was on his 7th Birthday (October 13, 2000) that Henri would receive a Marvin's Magic set from a patron of the pub. Henri would go on to perform tricks from this set at his school. It was also around this time he would go on to learn the PIano, he was taught by Tony Kilkenny a local musician who would teach Henri on and off until his teens. Henri would then go on to receive private tuition from local magician Spencer Wood. Ultimately securing his passion for magic. After passing his 11+ Henri would then go on to attend Gravesend Grammar School, it was here where he discovered his true love for playing music, joining both Junior band and Chamber Orchestra in his first term. Magic took a back seat while he focused on his studies. In his 3rd Year he started a Circus Skill club where he eventually rediscovered his love for magic tricks. Early career Henri's first professional work would come for him as a Juggler and Circus act, his professional debut was in a show hosted in Tunbridge wells called "Saturday Night Light" hosted and arranged by local entertainer Tom Swift. His skill with fire would go on to be noticed by a local promotional group who hired Henri to be part of their Circus division. During this time Henri learnt his craft as an entertainer. He would go on to discover his local magic club, The Medway Magical Society. Twice a month he would go to perform and learn tricks from fellow local magicians, he would also be reunited with his childhood mentor Spencer Wood, as well as a meet countless other local performers ranging from hobbyists to full time professionals. He would go on to win their Cabaret Magician of the year aware in 2010 aged only 15. Following this he entered The Magic Circle Young Magician of the Year competition (YMotY), he progressed through the heats and competed in the live finals at The Magic Circle HQ aged 16 along side 5 other young magicians. It was at this time Henri would decide to put performing ahead of his academic career. He stayed on at Gravesend Grammar school til sixth form where he would leave in 2012 not wishing to go onto university. Adult career Upon leaving school Henri perused his career as a professional Close-up Magician. To Increase his knowledge of Magic he would volunteer to help at his favourite magic shop Davenports Magic underground Charing Cross Station in Central London. Here he would get to practice his magic all day, talk to magicians around the world as well as keep up to date with the world of magic. He would also go on to be mentored briefly by Paul Daniels at his home in Wargrave. Aged 19 Henri passed an exam to become a Member of The Magic Circle, a club which Henri attends regularly. Fellow member include Dynamo, Fay Presto and David Copperfield. Henri appeared as a surprise guest on the 2014 reboot of Sunday Night at the Palladium, episode two. Hosted by Jason Manford. Henri would continue to live at home until he was 21, finally moving to Harrow on the Hill in 2015 to be closer to his work. At this time Henri took a job for Marvin's Magic, the same company who made this magic set he received on his 7th Birthday. He would work at the Harrods Branch from March 2015, when in November of that year he would be promoted to Concession Manager. He would keep this role until February 2016 and then finally leave in April. During his time at Harrods Henri performed not only for customer 5 days a week but would meet influential people from all around the world, including Adele, Lily Allen, Dave Grohl to name but a few and would have the privilege of performing and demonstrating to several Royal families and Dignatories including The Queen of Indonesia and The President of China. While living in London he became a much more established performer, he would seek regular advice from fellow Magician Fay Presto. He would go on to perform across the capital at countless events including The Royal Variety Show After Party. Henri Is now working across London and the UK doing private performances, and is the resident Pianist at The Hippodrome Casino, Leicester Square. Magic Projects Henri has worked with several magic companies to create magic tricks for fellow magicians. His first project was working with World Magic Shop to demonstrate "The Answer" on behalf of Ron Salamangkero. This was a new adaptation of the classic signed torn and restored playing card, which featured additional thought from Henri. His first solo project was a smoke from anywhere concept called "MYST" released by US company Ellusionist. To date his biggest release is another collaboration with World Magic Shop called "The Souvenir" a signed playing card is impossibly linked onto the stem of an ordinary wine glass. Henri is known to be working with Murphy's Magic on a product due for release in 2016. Henri has gone on to lecture his own material that he has created at The Medway Magical Society, South London Magic Society, London Society of Magician and The Magic Circle. He also organised an event at The Magic Circle called "Scrap Heap Challenge" where four notable members had to try to create a magic act in 4 hours using nothing but scrap. The Competitors would go on to be Ben Hart, Lee Hathaway (assisted by Debbie McGee), Simon Lovell and Paul Daniels. This sadly became Paul Daniels last appearance at The Magic circle on a club night.
