Biography
Early life
Arlock grew up in the south of Sweden.

Early career

In 2001, 17 years old, Arlock started to play in the Indie-pop band Nepal .
She became more confident and found something else beyond the classical way of using the cello.
A few years later the singer of this band moved to Barcelona, Spain, The trumpet player to London, UK and the guitarist to Brighton, UK.

Arlock became the cellist/pianist and backing vocalist of the Americana band Shooting John .

2005, she recieved a scholarship from STIM (Swedish ASCAP) that gave her the inspiration to work more on her own songs. It started as an electronic lounge project with the trumpet player of Nepal, Carl-Johan Elger, and was called Arlock vs Elger.
Shortly thereafter she started to make music more on her own - under the name Helena Arlock.

While touring in Germany with Shooting John in the fall of 2006, she met Canadian slide-guitarist/singer-songwriter Rachelle Van Zanten .
Arlock travelled to Canada later that year to tour as the cellist for Rachelle.

Two months later, 2007, she decided to travel to USA together with Gustav Haggren (Swedish indie-folk band Gustav and The Seasick Sailors )
Three months of backpacking/touring and the plans for a tour in Europe were in motion.

In the fall of 2007 she went out again. This time with Gustav Haggren and also the American Christian Cuff who they met in NYC the same year. These three songwriters traveled around most of Europe in a project they started: Indienational Tour (Cooperating musicians all over the world, helping eachother book shows and performing together)
