Helen Ruth Price (born 5 November 1994) is a British blogger and debater, who reached the 2012 World Schools Debating Championships (WSDC) finals. She writes a regular blog for Teen Simple and is a contributor to the Politics Student website. She has been widely profiled in the Welsh and national press, on BBC Radio and in several teenage girls' magazines, including Shout. Early life Price was born in Monmouth and attends Haberdashers' Monmouth School for Girls. Debating In October 2011, Price was selected to join the Welsh debating team after being scouted in a regional round of the CEWC-Cymru Julian Hodge Cup. The team participated in the 2012 WSDC in Cape Town, beating 48 other teams to win a place in the final against Scotland, which was chaired by Archbishop Desmond Tutu. Wales lost to Scotland. Blogging and activism Price is an outspoken contributor to Politics Student and has blogged extensively for the Teen Simple website, most notably about her debating experiences and the need to involve more girls in debating. She is an active member of the Labour Party.
