Heel That Pain

Heel That Pain is a web-based business that manufactures and sells in-heel inserts for the treatment of orthopedic foot injuries, such as plantar fasciitis and bone spurs. The company was launched in 2001 by Jason Schultz. In 2010, the company applied for and received a U.S. trademark for its heel seats. Heel That Pain offers a line of products designed to relieve acute and chronic foot pain. Schultz Grimes Inc. is the parent company of Heel That Pain and produces a range of non-invasive, non-prescription medical technology solutions.
Products
Heel seats are Heel That Pain's flagship product. The inserts are available in two varieties: a rigid insert and a softer gel insert for sensitive feet. Art Smuckler, a certified pedorthist in Albany, New York, originally designed the inserts.
Heel That Pain also sells heel-seat wraps for use without a shoe. The wraps function with the same principle as the heal seats, applying targeted pressure and giving support where needed. Plantar fasciitis is an inflammation of the connective tissue, known as the planter fascia, that forms the arch of the foot. The condition has a number of causes, such as weight gain, overuse, foot deformities, and poorly fitting shoes.
Bone spurs are another common cause of foot and heel pain. The bony outgrowths irritate the surrounding tissue, leading to pain and inflammation.
A clinical trial conducted at Des Moines University in Iowa compared the effectiveness of Heel That Pain inserts with another name-brand product. Thirty-two individuals completed the study. The results were significant and showed that heel seats from Heel That Pain were more effective than the other product.
