Hecus

Hecus X-Ray Systems GmbH or Hecus XRS for short, is a technology company based in Graz, Austria.
Founded in 1992 as M.Braun Graz Optical Systems GmbH as a spinoff from the public research organisation
Austrian Academy of Sciences ("Österreichische Akademie der Wissenschaften").
Hecus XRS main area of business is to provide complete system solutions in small- and
wide-angle X-ray scattering (SWAXS)
for nanostructure analysis.
History
Hecus XRS develops, manufactures and supplies purpose-taylored X-Ray nanoanalytical instruments for industry and research institutions. The strength of Hecus XRS lies in its traditional specialization on Small- and Wide-Angle X-Ray Scattering (S/WAXS). Through cooperation with top researchers worldwide, Hecus XRS has been pioneering this important analytical methodology for two decades and stands now as the technology leader in this field.

Fields of Application
Small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) is a non-invasive analytical technique to investigate the structure of non-crystalline or partly crystalline materials at the length scale of one to several hundred nanometres. In its combination with wide-angle scattering (SWAXS) the information range covers both the supra- or macromolecular domain as well as the interatomic distances in small molecules or crystals.
The fields of application cover the following important areas:
* Polymers
* Liquid Crystals
* Powders & Cream Formulations
* Biopolymers
* Biomaterials
* Catalysts
* Nanomaterials
* Coatings & Films
