Heathcliff H. Weissman (Heathcliff Heinsburg Weissman) (15 November 1877 - June 1954) was a lesser-known German philosopher, sociologist and psychologist. Weissman studied philosophy and psychology at the University of Göttingen, Germany. There he met many individuals that then helped to inspire him to later write his sociological journal: Der Konflikt der Klasse (The conflict of class). During his time at the university Weissman wrote many articles in which he advocated the works and ideas of Durkheim, Weber and other sociologists. Weissman, however, took a special interest in the works of Karl Marx and the Marxist view of society. After his university life Weissmann worked at many schools before he worked at the University of Freiburg, teaching sociology. In 1952, Weissman was diagnosed with lung cancer and subsequently died in June 1954.
