Heath Sommer (born 1976) is a clinical psychologist and an American author of psychological thriller novels. Biography Heath Sommer is a native of Sacramento, California. He has received a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Idaho State University in Pocatello, Idaho after having earned bachelor degrees in both psychology and in Marriage, Family, and Human Development from Brigham Young University. He is also currently an adjunct professor at Idaho State University. Sommer is best known in academic research for his work on the impact of spending recreational time with one's spouse (i.e., marital dating) , which work has been cited in such mainstream magazines such as Prevention or Best Life. He has also authored or coauthored manuscripts on other topics such as ethics reviews or methodology on parent-child agreement on survey research . As a fiction author, Sommer published his first novel, The Manufactured Identity, with Tate Publishing in 2009 , which rose to number 1 on the Tower Books website for humor books pre-release on June 16, 2009 . It is anticipated that the release of the prequel to The Manufactured Identity, The Grand Delusion, will be released in 2010 .
