Hearts of Fire Inernational Ministries
|
Hearts of Fire International Ministries is a nonprofit, spirit-filled Christian organization, similar to that of the Pentecostal and Charismatic Movement. The church was created by Reverend Aaron Winter in July 2005. Hearts of Fire message The ministry is more of a revival movement than a local church. They hold seminars and conferences with a special focus on a supernatural Jesus that saves the lost, giving special emphasis on the prophetic movement, teaching believers that the Spirit of God can live inside of them, and they can encounter Him in conversation, visions, and dreams. Founder After graduating from Portland Bible College, Winter became an ordained minister through Evangel Association of Churches & Ministries and founded Hearts of Fire International Ministries. He is the author of Becoming A Heart of Fire. On the Hearts of Fire International Ministries website, Winter has a message of "Catching Heaven's Flame" and "Discovering Your Identity In Christ", which has been the foundation on which the ministry was established. Open air meetings Hearts of Fire International Ministries has partnered with Hamilton Filmalter, founder of Rivers of Life Ministries, and together, they have held open air meetings called healing crusades in Pakistan, Indonesia, Tanzania, Kenya, and the United States. In some of these nations, tens of thousands have gathered together, to hear their message of a supernatural Jesus that heals the sick and saves unbelievers. Winter's talent for this kind of charismatic Witnessing has made him popular around the world as guest speaker. Interfaith meetings The ministry has stepped out of traditional church walls and has brought a message of peace to the Muslim world. Participating in interfaith meetings between the Muslim leaders and the Christians, Winter has spoken of peace that comes from the heart of the Prince of Peace. Finding common ground and working to build bridges, the ministry has tried to tear down the hostility between the two faiths. Portland Outpouring The Portland Outpouring<ref name="cnnw1"/> was a tent revival, sponsored by Rivers of Life Ministries in an open field at SW Greenhill Lane Tualatin, Oregon. It was patterned after the Lakeland Outpouring in Florida, that featured the controversial evangelist, Todd Bentley. The meetings began September 10, 2008. Reports came in of numerous healings and miracles that took place. It has been reported that a woman named Carol had Lymphoma cancer was healed. Other reports came in including a 49-year-old woman, who was born deaf and that of a partially blind woman that experience miraculous healings. The meetings were to end November 2, 2008, but were extended because of high demand. When they had ended, many had become new believers of their movement, accepting a supernatural Jesus as Savior, getting water baptized and filled with the Holy Spirit. Others also claimed healings or some other sort of supernatural experience. The Outpouring was not without controversy. Some of the local churches leaders were not happy with the revival, upset that so much emphasis was being put on being filled with the Holy Spirit like that of a Pentecostal. Division arose from some of the leaders of the Outpouring, upset they weren’t seeing tens of thousands like they have in other nations, they wanted to take the message back overseas.
