Harsh Kaul

Col. Harsh Kaul, SC (born July 12, 1951) is a retired Indian Army Officer and a Shaurya Chakra (Gallantry award) awardee. He is an alumnus of IMA (Indian Military Academy) and was commissioned into the 5 Gorkha Rifles (Frontier Force) on December 22, 1974 . Colonel Kaul retired on July 31, 2005.
Biography
Col. Harsh Kaul was born to Late Major B.N. Kaul and Mrs. Purnima Kaul in New Delhi, India on July 12, 1951. His father was an officer in the British Indian Army who was commissioned in the 8/12 Frontier Force Regiment in 1942, and fought in the Second World War. After the independence of India, he was transferred to the 6/5 GR (FF). Col. Kaul did his schooling from Scindia School, Gwalior. He is an alumnus of the Indian Military Academy and was commissioned into the 6/5 Gorkha Rifles (Frontier Force) on December 22, 1974. He was awarded the Shaurya Chakra for operations in Nagaland in 1981. Col. Kaul served the army for 31 years before retiring on July 31, 2005.
