Harold Eckert

Harold Wayne Eckert (born July 18, 1977 in Perth Amboy, New Jersey) was a pitcher in Minor League Baseball for the Broncos de Reynosa of the Mexican League.
Eckert attended college at Florida International University. In , he went 6-2 with a 3.16 ERA and was selected All-Sun Belt Conference Second Team.
He was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 19th round of the 1999 MLB Draft and signed with the Dodgers on June 14, 1999. However, his contract with the Dodgers was voided on September 7 for unspecified reasons and he did not play professionally until signed by the New York Mets on December 20, .
He played for the Mets Rookie level team in Kingsport in as well as their Single-A team in Brooklyn. With Brooklyn he was 9-1 with a 3.34 ERA in 11 starts. In , he played with the Capital City Bombers of the South Atlantic League and again performed well, going 13-7, 3.88 in 22 starts.
In , he was transferred to the Mets High-A team, the St. Lucie Mets where he had another good year, 7-3, 2.93 in 13 starts.
The Mets traded Eckert to the Los Angeles Dodgers the following spring and he reported for action with the Dodgers Double-A team in Jacksonville. However, after only three starts he was promoted to the Triple-A team, the Las Vegas 51s. In with Las Vegas, he compiled a record of 0-2, 6.38 ERA in 16 games (2 as a starter). He was released by the 51s on July 8 and signed with the Mexico City Red Devils of the Mexican League.
Eckert was released by the Mexico City Red Devils of the Mexican League in 2009 and signed with the Broncos de Reynosa in place of José Pablo Oyervidez.
