Halo 3 New Convenant and Human Weapons

With the release of Halo 3 inevitably came the release of a wave of new weapons. These new weapons give you new ways to take out enemies, whether they be battle-hardened brutes in campaign mode, or other Spartans in multiplayer. Below is a list of the new additions to the Halo weapons family.
Covenant Weapons

Spiker
The Brute’s version of the SMG, the Spiker is dual wieldable and rapidly fires glowing spikes at your enemy. Spikers overwhelm you opponent with a sheer barrage of spikes, the same spikes in spike grenades.

Gravity Hammer
This new up close and personal weapon will give the energy sword some competition. This high tech hammer sends enemies flying and can flip warthogs with a single blow with its gravity pulse technology. The hammer its gravity pulse to send grenades and rockets back the way they came, much to the displeasure of your opponent. This powerful Covenant weapon is a force to be reckoned with.

Mauler
The Mauler is a dual wieldable shotgun, and while it isn’t as strong as a shotgun, two of them together can inflict heavy damage. Two quick blasts at close range makes sure that your opponent won’t mess with you at close range again.

Human Weapons

Missile Pod
The Missile Pod replaces takes the former duty of the Rocket Launcher in Halo 3, it being the only weapon able to track vehicles. While your movement is slowed when you carry it, the sheer firepower makes up for it. The human weapon is magnificent at tracking airborne enemies, so Banshee pilots must stay aware to avoid a fiery spiral into the ground.

Spartan Laser
Originally intended as an anti-vehicle weapon, the Spartan Laser is also excellent at taking out infantry when they least expect it, succumbing to a flash of red light appearing out of nowhere. The charge time the powerful laser has is well worth the explosive results.

Flamethrower
This weapon engulfs your opponent in flames if they make the wrong choice of coming too close. Though it slows your movement, once on fire, you opponent dies in a matter of seconds.

Turrets
A vast improvement from Halo 2, you are no longer a sitting duck for those trigger happy snipers with the new option of detaching turrets. You can swiftly take out enemy troops with the hail of bullets, and evade theirs on the move.

Assault Rifle
Though this is not its first appearance in the Halo series, since it appeared in Halo:Combat Evolved, it was not included in Halo 2 but now has been reintroduced into Halo 3. This old friend is the perfect sidearm, versatile and perfect for taking down enemies quickly. This fully automatic weapon replaces the battle rifle as the starting weapon for multiplayer.
