Hakki Suleyman is a Turkish-born Australian political identity and father of Victorian MP Natalie Suleyman. Overview Suleyman is a key figure in the "ShortCon" faction that is key to the tenure of Federal Opposition Leader Bill Shorten, and which is currently under investigation due to party memberships allegedly being purchased by anonymous gift cards in contravention of party rules "branch stacker" was found by the Victorian Ombudsman to have exerted undue influence over Brimbank Council during the period in which his daughter, now the State Member for St Albans, was mayor. He was subsequently sacked from his position in the office of then Minister for Planning, Justin Madden Despite receiving support in Federal Parliament from Stephen Conroy who stated that "my good friend Hakki Suleyman has suffered tremendously at the hands of those carrying out that investigation, Mr Suleyman has provided this information by way of formal complaint to the Ombudsman's office" and the Australian Turkish Cypriot Cultural and Welfare Association, and is employed in the office of Australian Senator Stephen Conroy.<ref name="theage.com.au"/>
