Haidar Hadi

Haidar Hadi (born Baghdad, Iraq 27 July 1970) is the Iraqi ambassador to Belarus.
Early life and education
Hadi was born on 27 July 1970 in Baghdad, Iraq. He spent his childhood in Baghdad and went to school there. He then moved to England to go to university. He attended the Suffolk University College in Suffolk, England to obtain a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Business & Finance. He also attended Nottingham Trent University in Nottingham, England where he gained a BA (Hons) in Business Administration in 1997.
Career
Hadi worked in the Information Technology sector with Webstar Plc, a London-based company. In 2007, he moved back to Iraq and served as Host Nation Business Advisor and Business Development Consultant in the Iraqi Provinces of Al-Anbar, Saladin and Baghdad until August 2009. In October 2009, he was elected as an Ambassador and joined the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In June 2010, he was posted to lead the Iraqi Embassy in Minsk, Belarus. He was the first Ambassador to be posted in Belarus since the Embassy re-opened after the reign of Saddam Hussein.
In January 2012, Hadi became the Dean of Arab Diplomatic Missions accredited in Minsk, because he became the longest-serving Arab Ambassador in Minsk. On 31 October 2015, he returned to Baghdad and became the Head of Administrative Directorate at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He led a diplomatic committee to Cairo, Egypt in April 2016 and was on another diplomatic committee which went to Seoul, South Korea in May 2016.
Personal life
Hadi met Maysum Al-Rubaie in London and they married on 23 January 2000. They have a son and a daughter.
Hadi is a practicing Muslim.
