Gut and Psychology Syndrome

Gut and Psychology Syndrome, usually referred to as GAPS, is a three-part program developed by Dr Natasha Campbell-McBride, a British neurologist and nutritionist. The program of diet, nutritional supplements and detoxification is intended to heal symptoms of a wide variety of conditions manifesting in disorders of the bowels, skin, joints, behaviour, mind and mood.
Premise
GAPS is based on the premise that a healthy balance of gut bacteria serves to protect and nourish the body. The program's central assertion is that in healing the gut lining, restoring a balance of intestinal bacteria, and resolving an excessive toxic load, the body may fully utilize necessary nutrients so that correct function of all body parts can occur.
The program
GAPS is a three-part program involving
