Gail Bowman

Gail Bowman (born July 23, 1957 in Lancaster California) is an author and entrepreneur. She has had many articles published in various magazines, as well as the books: Raising Meat Goats for Profit, Country Tales and 30 Days of Encouragement.
Gail received her bachelor’s degree in education from California State University Northridge in 1980. She married David Bowman in Twin Falls, Idaho in 1988 and has 5 children. In 1998, Gail and her husband David became one of the first to own Boer Goats in the Northwestern United States. They soon became frustrated that so little information was available about this breed of goat, and began to collect information and techniques that they printed in articles for the Goat Rancher magazine.
In 1999, Gail wrote Raising Meat Goats for Profit, which became a very popular book on goat husbandry. Just 2 years later, Gail published Country Tales, a book of humor about their experiences with their ranch.
In 1983, Gail was diagnosed with Systemic lupus erythematosus at the Cedars Sinai Medical Center in California. When she married David Bowman in 1988, Gail was very sick. With the help of their family doctor, David began to find ways to reduce the toxic load in Gail’s life, and help her to heal. They learned that they had to remove all toxic chemicals from their home, eat toxin free food, take whole food immune boosting supplements, and be careful what kind of crowds or public places that they took her into because she was susceptible to viruses and bacteria.
David and Gail learned the principles of “holistic” health and the value of removing the stresses on the body to allow it to heal itself, and what they could do to encourage healing without drugs. By 2002, Gail no longer showed symptoms of her disease.
Through their quest for their own health and the health of a friend who was battling cancer, Gail and David opened a health food store called Health Food Emporium in 2003. Since that time, Gail has continued to educate herself about natural foods and remedies, and has tried to help others to find healing through reduced toxin load.
When Jordan Rubin began a new company called Beyond Organic in 2011, Gail was invited to be involved. Through Beyond Organic, Gail continues to bring toxin free foods and skin care to people who ask her for help. She is now a Senior Vice President with the company, Beyond Organic.
