Gustavo Calle Gracey (born in Lima, Peru in 1963) is a modern artist. He lived in Madrid for 23 years, prior to moving to London. Calle Gracey explores relations between differentiated approaches to understanding and visualising social complexity as a creative phenomenon. His pieces explore female forms each painting represents a person that has played a significant role in his life. Calle Gracey's practice research empirically and theoretically stems from a range of mediums including video, literature, photography and art. Calle Gracey's internationally exhibited works include: vidEGO, which focuses on the recent phenomenon of mass immigration from London to Madrid and comprises personal works of Calle Gracey. Biography Gustavo Calle Gracey was born in Peru and lived in Madrid for 23 years, prior to moving to London. Attending college at the Universidad del Pacifico, Lima, Peru, Gracey majored in business administration. In Spain he played as a polo professional and is a patron of the Toro Azul polo team, helping them to win the most important tournaments in Spain and Argentina. During those years wrote plenty of books and developed his passion for photography and collage art. He exclusively dedicated his time to making art: video, photography, literature and acrilyc paintings.
