Gurmail Singh (politician)

Gurmail Singh (also spelled Gurmel Singh) is an Indian politician, environmentalist and activist. He is the Sarpanch of Ghrachon village of Sangrur district and the district chief of Aam Aadmi Party in Sangrur. He is an eminent environmentalist and is running a plantation drive since 2008. He is known for his efforts against the transfer of 23-acre land of village to private ownership. He had moved The High Court against the decision of the state government of Punjab.

Politics
He joined Aam Aadmi Party in 2013 as a founder member.
Sarpanch
In 2018, he was elected as the Sarpanch of Ghrachon village of Sangrur district. Around the end of 2021, the land was transferred back to the panchayat.
In June 2022, Singh was nominated as the candidate of Aam Aadmi Party for the seat of Member of Parliament from Sangrur Lok Sabha constituency in the 2022 Lok Sabha by-Poll.
