Guillaume Boucard

Guillaume Payen-Boucard (born March 16, 1990) is a Canadian-French professional basketball player for the St. John's Edge of the National Basketball League of Canada. He played college basketball for Carleton, winning the CIS national title in each of his five years with the team.
High school career
Boucard played basketball for Collège Ahuntsic in Montreal, Quebec. In his final season, he averaged 21.1 points and 7.5 rebounds per game and was named most valuable player (MVP) in the AAA Réseau du sport étudiant du Québec.
College career
Boucard initially received little playing time with Carleton. In his first three years with the team, through 45 total games, he did not average more than 1.9 points per game. In April 2013, Boucard won his team's alumni award. In the 2014-15 season, he averaged 8.5 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 1.3 assists in 21.3 minutes per game. In his final year, Boucard averaged 14.6 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game. On February 26, 2016, he recorded a season-high 23 points and 11 rebounds against Laurentian. In March, Boucard was named Ontario University Athletics (OUA) Second-Team All-Star. He led his team to its 6th straight Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) championship, his fifth CIS title while playing for Carleton.
Professional career
On July 1, 2016, Boucard signed with GET Vosges of the Nationale Masculine 1 (NM1), the third-tier French league. He was encouraged to start his career in France because he had relatives in the area and could already speak French. Through 36 games, Boucard averaged 9.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1.4 steals in 23.4 minutes per game. In the 2017-18 season, he played for the Niagara River Lions of the National Basketball League of Canada. Through 43 games, Boucard averaged 14.2 points, 7.7 rebounds, 3 assists, and 1.5 steals per game. Boucard began the 2018-19 season with Sluneta Ústí nad Labem of the Czech National Basketball League but played limited minutes in only two games. One week later, he signed with the Edge.
Personal life
Boucard, a native of Montreal, was born to a French mother and Haitian father. He has Canadian and French citizenship.<ref name=recrue/>
