History
In an interview with Alli Sports, producers of the Dew Tour, Danny says he was on a chairlift on a cold snowy day snowboarding at Mammoth Lakes California, and he had no gloves. "I wanted to shake something up," he said, "and create a company." He was 19 years old at the time. Older brother Matt was the team manager for snowboard company Mission Six and also wanted to start his own business. "We didn't want to do something that would conflict with our sponsors," Danny says in an interview with ESPN The Magazine. "Gloves made sense." And the name? "That was easy. I had a grenade sticker on my board.". The brothers pooled their earnings from real estate investments and contest winnings and began operating out of a renovated gas station in June Lake, California.
