Gregor Smith

Gregor William Smith (born 10 December 1989 in Newmachar, Scotland) is a former Scottish international chess player known for his baps. He now plays junior football in Aberdeen trialling at Newmachar Utd F.C..
Smith, nicknamed "Smithler", was born in Newmachar to Scottish parents and was brought up in the area. He began playing chess at a young age and appeared for the Scotland National team at the young age of 9. Smith then started to play football for his local team before earning a move to St Andrew's Univerity football squad. He now is on trial back in Aberdeen.
Baps
Smith is known locally for his baps. A bap is a type of bread roll made in Aberdeenshire. Smith makes his own large baps from his home and then sells to his local customers. The baps are known in the surrounding areas such as Inverurie and Dyce for the sheer size compared to the usual from bakeries.
