Greenwich Public School

Greenwich Public School is a local primary school in Greenwich, in Sydney, Australia. There are two separate campuses located 1.5 kilometres apart.



Motto

The school motto is Nil Sine Labore meaning 'nothing without work' in Latin.

Extra Curricular

G.P.S has several internal clubs and activities.
Here are a few clubs and extra activities within the school:
*Chess Club: the school has a chess club in which students of any age can compete against each other in a tournament for a trophy.
*The school has a debating club which competes against other schools.
*G.P.S has a training band and an ensemble band, which perform on special occasions.
*Sport: In term III senior students (years 5 & 6) have the opportunity to be part of the two soccer teams or the netball teams which compete in the PSSA competition. Year 4 students have the opportunity to be part of two Australian Football League (AFL) teams which compete against other schools.

Houses

G.P.S. has three houses named after famous Australian sportspeople. They are Bradman (Don-Cricket) which is blue, Goolagong (Evonne-Tennis) which is yellow and Fraser (Dawn-Swimming) which is red.

Current changes

The Primary Campus has just finished building a COLA (Covered Outdoor Learning Area) over an asphalt area they call "Red Square" due to the red painted handball courts. The school is currently investing in the SMART Board interactive whiteboard, and are aiming to put one in every classroom of the school.
