The 90 Mile Drive is the annual SEC football and basketball game(s) between the Crimson Tide of the University of Alabama and the Bulldogs of Mississippi State University. It is called this because the two campuses are roughly 90 miles apart and are the closest in proximity to each other than any other SEC university.
The Newly Kindled Rivalry
Entering its 92nd meeting as of the 2008 football season, Alabama-Mississippi State is one of the Southeastern Conference's longest-running rivalries, dating back to 1896. It also has been one of the league's most lopsided with Alabama winning 71 of 90 meetings.
